Letters for my Daughters - leaving a legacy

From Growth Guru Verne Harnish - last week Bruce Johnson, President of Accelerated Growth Consulting, started a blog for his two daughters (ages 18 and 21) of life lessons he'd like to pass along to them. Notes Johnson, "as we talked about it, they liked the idea of using a blog so that their friends (and others) could learn from them as well. So far I've posted five lessons this week." Lessons include "Why Slow is Much Better than Fast (In Dating)" and "Eliminate 'I Know That' From Your Vocabulary." Concludes Johnson "Wouldn't it be great if fathers regularly wrote down lessons for their children that generation after generation could pass along?" I couldn't agree more.

Facebook at work? It's not a clear argument....

Social networking may be gaining ground in the workplace but many Canadian companies are tightening their grip on just how employees use sites such as Facebook and Twitter while on the job. PACE is taking calls daily about employers who perceive a profound lack of productivity, and want to hear about our options for web content filtering in the workplace.

The PACE take on this is that throwing the baby out with the bathwater never ends well. The positive ramifications of social media on business are well documented - as are the negative ones. Our answer is always the same - educate yourself! Feel free to call in for some free advice as well - we're always here!

Why Your Business Should Not Abandon Facebook

FB gets a bad rap when it comes to privacy - and deservedly so. But do we really need to throw the baby out with the bath water? If we as individuals are just a little more diligent, wouldn't this be a non-issue? Educate yourself and be careful out there - social networking is more viable now than ever.
